Services for the Job Seeker

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is an employment program designed to assist job seekers with the support they need to become self-sufficient. One-Stops can assist job seekers in all stages of the search process, from career planning to job training.

Adults and Dislocated Workers

Your local OhioMeansJobs center can help you explore career fields, learn about financial aid for school, and assist you with your job search. You may also be eligible for our many other services, such as individualized skills assessments, supportive services such as transportation, scholarships for training in high demand occupations, and veteran programs.

Youth

The goal of The Greater Ohio Workforce Board’s WIOA youth program is to help youth age 14-24 complete their education in order to obtain and retain employment. Some youth services include:

  • Career counseling
  • GED or high school equivalency, or high school credit recovery
  • Leadership skills development
  • Tutoring
  • Employment opportunities and paid work experience
  • Supportive services, such as transportation
